Vietnam Fighter Pilot Helmets

The talented INK retouch team are proud to have been part of our friend and artist Phil Toledano's new work collecting and photographing US navy fighter pilot helmets. These one of a kind helmets, from the era of the Vietnam war, are from a rare moment in history when pilots were able to decorate their own helmets and the results were a fascinating collision between pop art and the military industrial complex. The original patinas dating from the Vietnam war remain untouched, their distinctive designs a marker of their unique history.

For the past 6 months we helped bring to life this incredible project, the INK retouch team meticulously retouched these stunning images, with particular attention to remain faithful to their original and beautiful patina dating back to the Vietnam War.
